Natürlich kam auch der Orgelspezialist Jimmy McGriff nicht umher, in den 70er Jahren eine groovige Scheibe zu veröffentlichen. Zu dieser Zeit kam von allen Stars der Jazzwelt eine LP, mit einem Statement zum populären Disco- und Groovesound Anfang der 70er. Und McGriffs Orgel war natürlich das perfekte Instrument, die beiden musikalischen Welten miteinander zu vereinen. „Groove Grease" ist im besten Sinne funky, McGriff und seine Band haben die Musik locker fließen lassen, wobei der E-Bass von Richard Davis schon eine klasse Sache für sich ist! Bei Platten wie dieser kann man nicht stillhalten...!
